Choose a game with an outcome everyone can compare
Agree on the title and one visible result before anyone plays. Coin Drop gives players a score to compare after dropping coins onto its moving shelf; Knife Hit gives a stage progression to discuss as a separate attempt. Use the same title and goal for everyone, and do not compare two different games just because both show a number.
Write the rules in the invitation
Send the game link with a short challenge card: title, number of attempts, deadline, result to report and tie rule. For example: “Coin Drop, three runs by Friday evening; add the displayed points; highest total wins; equal totals share the result.” Each person plays separately, so the format works across schedules without pretending actions happen together.
Keep the challenge friendly
Invite people to skip or play casually, and avoid making participation depend on a purchase or a private account. If a game changes or becomes unavailable on someone’s device, choose a replacement title together and restart the round with the same rule. A clear link and equal attempt limit make a small asynchronous game night easy to understand.
Questions about games to play with friends
Can we play the same game together in real time?
Oneshotgems does not provide live multiplayer rooms. Share a game link and take separate attempts, or use an external multiplayer service for simultaneous play.
What should we compare after each attempt?
Choose a result visible in the title before play begins, such as the displayed Coin Drop points. Keep the same game, number of attempts and scoring rule for everyone.
