Everyday word search
Word Hunt hides ten theme words across, down, diagonally and backwards in a grid of letters. Drag from the first letter to the last to circle a word; there is a new daily puzzle and practice puzzles after it.
Seasonal word searches
Christmas Word Search, Halloween Word Search and Thanksgiving Word Search each have their own themed words, scenery and music: a snowy cabin under fairy lights, a moonlit graveyard of jack-o'-lanterns, and a golden harvest table. Grids grow from eight by eight to twelve by twelve as you progress, early levels hide words only across and down before adding diagonals and backwards words, and a daily seasonal puzzle unlocks after your first two solves.
Stuck on a word? Tap it in the list to ring its first letter; hints are limited, and you earn more by solving. Each puzzle awards up to three stars, and your level, stars and the puzzle in progress are saved if you close the game.
How to find words faster
Scan for an unusual letter in the word you want, such as a q, z or double letter, rather than reading row by row. Check diagonals and backwards words last, since most people find those hardest.
Questions about word search games
Can words go backwards in these word searches?
Yes. Words can run across, down, diagonally and backwards, so check every direction from a likely first letter.
Are the word searches available in other languages?
The seasonal word searches use word lists chosen for each of the site's ten languages, so the puzzles work in that language. Word Hunt's puzzles are in English.
