Find out why a touch input is being missed

A missed tap can come from a gesture mismatch, a page that has not finished loading, an overlay or a finger covering the relevant target. Before assuming a game is unresponsive, test one careful input and observe what changes. This method is especially useful on a phone where browser controls and the play area share limited screen space.

Confirm the intended gesture

Read the visible prompt before acting. Merge Drop uses a drag to aim and a release to drop; tapping without moving will not perform the same action. Orbit uses a tap to jump from an orbit. Choosing the wrong gesture can look like a technical failure even when the page is accepting touches correctly.

Let the game reach its active state before touching the screen, then try a single deliberate input. If the action requires a press and hold, keep contact until the intended release; if it needs a swipe, trace a clear path. Avoid several rapid gestures in a row because they make it harder to see which action registered.

Check what sits between finger and game

A browser toolbar, cookie prompt or other overlay may cover part of the play area. Close the overlay if it is safe to do so, reset page zoom and make sure the game is not scrolled partly out of view. Change phone orientation only after you have observed how the current layout is cropped.

If one browser does not respond but another supported browser does, the issue may be a compatibility difference. Make a note of the device, browser and title before reporting a persistent problem. A brief test with another game can help identify whether touch input is failing generally or whether a specific control expects a different movement.

Questions about browser game touch controls not working

Why does my tap not register?

The page may still be loading, an overlay may cover the play area, or the game may expect a drag or hold instead. Check its visible instructions and test one careful input.

Should I keep tapping until it responds?

No. Repeated taps can trigger an unintended action once the page becomes ready. Wait for the active screen, confirm the gesture and try one deliberate input.
