## How to play

Choose a class, ancestry and appearance, then pick a connected expedition route. Start in common clothes with empty hands; find or buy weapons and fitted armor. WASD moves; hold Shift to walk, Caps Lock toggles walking, C sneaks; click captures the mouse and attacks; right-click blocks; F interacts; Space jumps; Q/E use equipped abilities; Tab opens inventory; M expands the map; 1/2 holster hands; 3 drinks a potion. Hold a prepared-memory key, aim toward a spell and release. Double-click gear to equip or transfer it. Cross the mandatory void gaps on the broad stones; watch moving platforms on deeper floors. Water leaves wakes and circular jump ripples. Green toxic water damages you while you stand in it. Explore moss sanctuaries, sewers, frozen vaults and Dwemer lava forges. Escape through a late-raid blue portal to bank loot. The eighteen-floor expedition has three boss gates and three lives. Losing the third life resets level and route while preserving stash loot. Enter or T opens party chat; Enter sends and Escape closes it. Your first arrival is voiced; Space or a click skips it. Explore Emberwake Shore and press F near a trader to talk, buy supplies or accept quests. Walk into a ladder to climb; Space lets go. Jump between raised platforms to reach better caches. Each class has its own hero, experience, mastery and quests; gold and stash are shared. Press F at village doors to enter furnished shops; press F at the exit to return. Fists and paired weapons alternate hands. Carry a torch into dark passages. Drag the character scene to smoothly orbit the camera. Choose Human, Elf (High Elf, Wood Elf or Drow), Dwarf, Halfling, Dragonborn, Gnome, Tiefling, Orc or Half-Orc, Goliath, or Aasimar; each has its own heights and traits. V uses Dragonborn fire breath or Aasimar healing radiance in a dungeon, with a 45-second recovery. Swim with WASD; return to shore before stamina runs out. Drowning costs an expedition life. Aim at creature weak points. Raider and player head hits deal 150%, torso 100%, legs 70% and arms 50%. Melee follows the weapon through its arc; each enemy after the first takes half damage. Watch ceilings and corners, and interrupt raiders drinking potions. Items roll individual enchantments, power, value and durability. The smith repairs worn equipment for gold. Visit Elara by the campfire for advice and one small offering per raid. Pack up to five potions per raid; surplus stays in Emberwake. Unequip a torch before using a two-handed weapon, or wear a lantern at your belt to keep both hands free. Torches and lanterns burn brighter with rarity. Armor drops in dyed schemes with extra horns, spikes, pauldrons and more. Pressure plates hide in the grass: watch for cracked slabs, step around them or jump. Raids are four times larger, with mossy, ruined, swamp, snow, sewer, frozen, forge and hell settings; lava burns. The minimap shows only the closing mist zone. A deadly fall screams, crunches and ends in the death screen. Read faint white swing paths: sidestep overheads and thrusts, back away from side swings, hold C under high sweeps or jump low sweeps. Shapeshifted forms show their own paws, wings or flippers.
